Meditation is the practice of bringing your focus and attention to one place, known as the object of meditation. Your object of meditation can be your breath, an anchoring thought, a mantra or anything that gently guides you back to the present moment when the mind inevitably begins to wander. Pranayama (breathwork) may also be used to help us get into a meditative state. Pranayama is an ancient breath technique that involves controlling your breath in different styles for different lengths of time. Both Meditation and Pranayama hold many health benefits, mindfulness benefits and contribute to our overall well-being.
